I make paintings and stitched works that explore consciousness: what it is to be human, to be present, to be aware.

I work slowly, building each piece in layers and letting symbols arrive as visions. The work emerges through reduction, in myself and in the materials, spending time on the land, the land of me, and the cosmos.

These works are objects, like a philosophy book, a poem, a dance across the room, the space music takes up. Maybe they open a new conversation. Maybe a new feeling. Maybe they are visual prayers, to be experienced as a state of consciousness.

They, to me, are beings.
