I make oil paintings that explore consciousness — what it is to be human, to be present, to be aware.
I work slowly, building each painting in layers, letting symbols arrive as visions. The work emerges through reduction — in myself and in the materials — spending time on the land, the land of me, and the cosmos.
These paintings are objects — like a philosophy book, a poem, a dance across the room, the space music takes up.
Maybe they open a new conversation. Maybe a new feeling. Maybe they are visual prayers, to be experienced as a state of consciousness.
They, to me, are beings.
